IMPLANT
What is an implant?
Dental implants are screw-shaped artificial roots made of titanium used to replace missing teeth. Placed in the jawbone, implants support the prosthetic teeth that are attached to them by functioning like a natural tooth root. Implants are one of the closest alternatives to natural teeth, both aesthetically and functionally.
Types of implants:
Endosteal implant
-
It is the most commonly used implant type.
-
Titanium screws are placed directly into the jawbone.
Subperiosteal Implants
-
It was developed for patients with insufficient bone density.
-
It is placed on the jawbone, but is rarely preferred today.
All-on-4 and All-on-6 implants
-
All-on-4: A full denture is supported by placing only 4 implants in the lower or upper jaw.
-
All-on-6: Developed for patients who want more support.
Who can have implants?
-
Individuals over 18 years of age and who have completed jaw development
-
Those whose jawbone has sufficient density and width
-
People who pay attention to oral hygiene and do not have gum disease
-
Patients who can limit or quit smoking

-
Avoid hot foods and drinks for the first 24 hours.
-
Pay attention to oral hygiene, use dental floss and antibacterial mouthwash.
-
Avoid hard and sticky foods.
-
Smoking and alcohol use can negatively affect the healing process.
