What is the FUE technique?

The modern technique used in hair transplantation is the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique. This technique has become used worldwide. The purpose of this technique is not to damage the tissue, to prevent future damage to nerves or tissues, and to achieve the desired result. The FUE technique for hair transplantation was developed to ensure patient comfort and safety and to increase the quality of life.

The FUE technique was used in hair transplantation before the FUE technique, the FUT technique specialist makes an incision along the point at the back of the head (donor area) and cuts a flap of the scalp, the follicles are removed from this flap and then implanted in the bald area. Then with the FUT technique, a large scar remains on the scalp in the donor area, in this case the patient cannot shave or shorten his hair and may lose sensation at the site of the scar in the future.

In the FUE technique, there is no need to cut a flap of the scalp in hair transplantation as in the FUT technique, and there are no scars or wounds. In the FUE technique, the roots are removed one by one from the back of the head, called the donor area, with a device called a micromotor. These roots are removed homogeneously in the donor area, leaving no scars or gaps. Then, channels are opened in the bald areas, and the final step is to place the roots in their places. The hair transplant operation is performed under local anesthesia and takes an average of 5-6 hours. Hair transplantation in the FUE technique is not painful and leaves no scars.
